The RPG Gamers Guild welcomes you to our tower! We are trying to create a group of like-minded people who take their Role Playing Games (RPG's) seriously enough to want their sessions and campaigns to constantly improve to be more fun for players and Game Masters alike. There is a new breed of RPG out there today in the form of online subscription gaming and while these games are a blast to play and provide endless hours of entertainment, we at the RPG Gamers Guild have refused to sever our ties with classic live dice-and-paper games.
What we at the RPG Gamers Guild would like to do is create an environment that appeals to many different gamers and to pool our collective insights and resources to promote the hobby of Role Playing Games to the masses that have yet to discover the wonders of gaming and to strengthen the game play of veteran gamers. One way we hope to do this is to allow our members to ask for help, ideas, and suggestions on how to improve their current games. This may be more helpful to Game/Dungeon Masters than PC's, but we can't even begin to tell how many times GM's have gotten stumped on a rule clarification, campaign direction, campaign plot, appropriate rewards/punishments, balanced challenge ratings, handling unruly players, running high-level campaigns, and hundreds of other issues that come up all the time. By utilizing our group as a tool and free think-tank by tapping the minds of other gamers for suggestions will definitely help your game run smoothly and fairly and result in more fun for everyone. For people who have little or no gaming experience we would like to invite you to communicate with our members (and hopefully become one yourself) and ask any questions you may have about RPG's; which game(s) to play, what type of character to play, how does it work, what do you need to play, etc. I'm sure our current members would be happy to assist you in entering the gaming world. Or maybe you're a person that has lots of experience as a PC, but now you have an idea for a campaign you'd like to run, but you have never run a game before. Again, tap the collective minds of the RPG Gamers Guild for tips, help, settings, and any other parts of campaign generation you need assistance with. We at the RPG Gamers Guild have come to the realization that gaming not only provides us with something fun to do for an unspecified number of hours every so often, but the memories of the campaigns, characters, names, places, battles, artifacts, funny one-liners, and many other aspects of the game are carried with us and it never seems to fail that when we start gaming, someone brings up something from the past. Insurmountable odds that were beat, how someone's PC obtained his/her insanity, the stupidest thing a PC ever did or said, what happened to make the game session take a time out due to uncontrollable laughter. All these wonderful memories from our games we would love to share with you and we would appreciate hearing about your most memorable moments as well. There is also something to be learned from the bad memories of game sessions. We will share our mistakes with you in hopes that you do not repeat them with your gaming groups, or if you do, at least show you how not to handle it. We can also help to point out some of the red flags that we've seen that could mean trouble on the horizon in your gaming group/session and how to diffuse the situation before it escalates into a serious problem, potentially ruining not only the gaming group, but transcending into real life problems as well. After all, it should be the real-life friendships that make gaming so important to us and at least in my opinion, no gaming squabble is worth losing close friends over. The RPG Gamers Guild members have played in many different RPG's and certainly everyone is bound to have their favorites. Eventually we would love to have enough members with enough diversity to offer their insights on any RPG so even if you've never played a particular game but know someone that has, please feel free to invite them into our Guild. Currently most of our members have experience in Dungeon's & Dragons (3rd ed. and some v3.5,) Rifts, Shadowrun, Palladium Fantasy RPG, White Wolf, Robotech, Forgotten Realms, Paranoia, and Heroes Unlimited. We hope to soon include Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Nightbane, Dragonlance, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, GURPS, Battletech, and many more that we have not yet mentioned. Got the inside scoop on a great game that hasn't been mentioned or written about? Be sure to join our Guild and tell our members about it! One final goal of the RPG Gamers Guild is to possibly help gamers connect with one another to form new gaming groups. It's a smaller world than most think it is and it might surprise you to find out how many other gamers might be living in the next town down the road from you! It wouldn't be the first time that a fellow Minnesotan gamer has seen me on one website or another and said hi and inquired about me joining their group or them joining mine or both. (It has not worked out yet since we lived on opposite ends of the state,) but next time it happens it could be someone from the next county over. So please, interact with the other members, promote our Guild, and no matter what your mediumÂ…Game On! Group Tags
